LONG ISLAND CHAPTER
EMPIRE STATE SOCIETY
SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
Welcome to The Long Island Chapter Sons of the American Revolution website. For more than 100 years, the Long Island Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) continues to be a historical, educational and patriotic non-profit organization that seeks to maintain and extend:
The institutions of American freedom
An appreciation for true patriotism
A respect for our national symbols
The value of American citizenship
The unifying force of e pluribus unum that has created, from the people of many nations, one nation and one people
We do this by our contributions to our community that help to perpetuate the patriotism, courage and sacrifice of the men and women who achieved the independence of the American people. We believe that we have a responsibility to inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation to defend our freedoms on the battlefield and in our public institutions.
Please share your comments and suggestions on what we can do to be a valued resource to our compatriots and our community by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
The Sons of the American Revolution is the leading male lineage society that perpetuates the ideals of the war for independence. As a historical, educational, and patriotic, non-profit corporation organized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, we seek to maintain and expand the meaning of patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of "e pluribus unum" that was created from the people of many nations -- one nation and one people.
THE LIBERTY FLAG
was proudly held by Huntington troops at the Battle of Long Island in August 1777.
THE HULBERT FLAG
